Het Leidseplein , in het verlengde van de Amsterdamse Leidsestraat , grenst aan de Marnixstraat en het Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen in Stadsdeel Amsterdam Centrum . The Leidseplein, in line with the Amsterdam Leidse Street, adjacent to the Marnixstraat and Gartman seen Stadsdeel in Amsterdam Centrum. Het dateert uit de aanlegperiode van de grachtengordel . It dates from the construction period of the canal. Het plein werd aan de zuidzijde afgesloten door de, omstreeks 1870 afgebroken, Leidsepoort . The square was closed to the south, around 1870 broken, Leidse Poort.
